Brandon Hourigan is entering his third year as head strength & conditioning coach for the Spider football team and the Millis, Mass., native boasts more than a decade of experience in the field.
At Richmond, Hourigan works exclusively with the football student-athletes and oversees all weight room activity, while supervising two full-time strength & conditioning coaches.
Prior to his appointment at Richmond in 2005, Hourigan was the assistant coordinator of speed, strength and conditioning at Northeastern University. While in Boston, he worked with the Huskies' football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's hockey, volleyball, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's track and field squads.
Hourigan has also worked as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at the University of Arizona and Clemson University. He also served as a strength & conditioning intern for the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.
Hourigan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Plymouth State College where he was a four-year letterwinner in football. He later received his Master's of Sciences in Guidance and Counseling from Clemson.
Hourigan is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the United States Weight Lifting Association, and has both First Aid and CPR certification.
Hourigan and his wife Amy have a son, Brandon, Jr., and a daughter, Ava.
