2005: Helped the Spider defense rank fourth in the conference and 38th in the country in total defense (339.3 yd/game)... Was part of a Spider defensive squad which also ranked fourth in the conference and 22nd in the nation against the rush (120.1 yd/game)... Took part in the Spider defense which recorded 51 total sacks, the most since wracking up 59 in 1997... Played in all 13 games, starting at Vanderbilt... Recorded 26 tackles, including six solo stops... Picked off one pass, as well as recorded two sacks for 10 yards... Was a member of the Atlantic 10 All-Academic squad.

Three-year starter on the offensive line and two-year starter on the defensive line... Received 2001 Joe F. Cohen Blanket Award as the team's MVP... An outstanding student-athlete, selected as a three-time honor roll member... Selected for the Pennsylvania Football News All-Academic Team while carrying a 3.5 GPA... A two-sport star, Ryan earned All-Regional and District runner-up in wrestling as a junior.

Personal: Son of Chuck and LuAnne Beers... Born Feb. 6, 1984... His brother Randy played football at Youngstown State and Indiana Univ. of Pennsylvania.
