2009 (RS-Junior): Made seven appearances for the Spiders -- four starts -- over the first half of the season before suffering an injury and missing the remainder of the season... Pitched well early, allowing just eight earned runs over his first five outings... Matched his career-high with 5.0 strong innings but got the no-decision in a 2-1 win at VMI... Fanned seven and allowed just three hits and one run to the Keydets. 2008 (Junior): Took a medical redshirt after going down with a season-ending injury in early March. 2007 (Sophomore at North Carolina): Saw limited action for the Tar Heels, making three appearances in 2007, fanning five against one walk... Was injured for much of the season. 2006 (Freshman at North Carolina): Pitched in eight games as a freshman with six K's and a 1.50 ERA in 6.0 innings. High School and Personal: A three-time All-League selection and two-time All-Suburban and All-County choice for Ridgewood High School in New Jersey... As a junior, he struck out 104 batters in just 56 innings... Earned the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award that year... Also played football for three years and basketball for one. |
