WILLIAMSBURG, VA (March 30, 2002)-The College of William and shutout Penn State, 7-0. The Lady Lions fall to 5-7 with the loss.

W&M took all three doubles matches for the team point. At the No. 1 position senior Jessyca Arthur (Klamath Falls, OR) and freshman Candice Fuchs (Sarasota, FL) defeated Rebecca Ho/Sarah Spence, 8-1. At the second spot senior Delphine Troch (Brussels, Belgium) and rookie Angela Buergis (Fraunfeld, Switzerland) won against Megan Marton/Judy Wang, while junior Kari Olsen (San Diego, CA) and freshman Amy Wei (Marietta, GA) took down Maaria Husain/Leigh Ann Merryman, 8-3.

In the top match Arthur defeated Ho, 6-1, 6-4. At No. 2 Fuchs took down Husain, 6-1, 6-2, and Troch defeated Marton at No. 3, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (4). In the fourth match Buergis defeated Merryman, 6-4, 7-6 (3), and freshman Lena Sherbakov (Mountain View, CA) won. Wei rounded out the scoring with a, 6-1, 6-1, win over Spence at No. 6.
