A few weeks ago, Penn State's Missy Beseres (Golden Valley, Minn.) was finishing her last undergraduate classes and pitching in the NCAA Tournament for the Nittany Lions. Now the second team All-Great Lakes Region hurler represents the Lions' first draftee to the National Professional Fastpitch League. A member of the Chicago Bandits, Beseres will be checking in with GoPSUsports.com periodically. Her first entry came on the eve the Bandits' first game of the season... May 31, 2006 Missy Beseres here, I wanted to check in with an update and let you all know how everything is going. Following our great run in the NCAA tournament I packed up and moved to the windy city to join the National Professional Fastpitch team the Chicago Bandits. It was tough to leave all the friends and extended family I have made at Penn State over the past 5 years. My experience with Penn State Softball provided a great foundation of coaching and competition that has allowed me to make the move into the professional arena. I have been practicing with my team for a week and every day I return home feeling like I've learned something about the game from this new angle to compliment that foundation. My new teammates are wonderful, each one of them have welcomed me to the Chicago Bandit family with open arms. Tomorrow is our first game against Team Venezuela. I'm very excited to get back out on the dirt and compete. More to come, Go Bandits! For the Glory,
