State College, Pa., October 22, 2001 - Junior goalkeeper Annie Zinkavich (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week on Monday by the conference office. She also earns the laurel for the third time this season. Zinkavich guided the No. 15 Nittany Lions to their fifth-consecutive victory on Saturday, with a 2-1 upset of No. 4 Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. She recorded four saves on 10 shots, allowing just one goal in 70 minutes of action. The goalkeeper is the second Nittany Lion to earn Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks. Senior co-captain Kiley Kulina (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) was picked Offensive Player of the Week on October 8 and 15. The Nittany Lions will close out the home slate this weekend.
