UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., May 10, 2005 -- Sophomore outside hitter Alex Gutor (State College, Pa.) was named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament team last weekend in Los Angeles, Calif.
Gutor joins Mark Greaves of Ohio State, Paul Johnson and Jonathan Acosta of UCLA and Jon Parfitt, Jonathan Winder and Sean Rooney of Pepperdine. Rooney was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship after leading the top-ranked Waves to the NCAA Title. In Penn State's NCAA Semifinal match against UCLA, Gutor recorded a team-high 11 kills while hitting .333 for the match.
