Penn State Men's Soccer Player Selected to Academic All-District Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Nov. 14, 2003) - While the Penn State men's soccer team is preparing for its next competition on the field at the Big Ten Men's Soccer Championships in Bloomington, Ind., junior Kenji Treschuk (Honolulu, Hawaii) has been honored for his work off the field.

Treschuk, a 2002 Academic All-Big Ten honoree, has made the Academic All-District II Men's Soccer Second Team, as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Treschuk made the team as a defender with a 3.30 GPA in Psychology. Treschuk has set career highs in goals (4) and points (9) this season and he scored a goal in the Nittany Lions? 2-1 victory over Michigan State in Thursday's Big Ten Championship first-round match.

Penn State (8-10) will play No. 7 seed Northwestern 7:30 p.m. tonight for a chance to defend its Big Ten Championship 2 p.m. Sunday at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.

No. 1 seed, and tournament host, Indiana plays host to No. 5 Wisconsin 5 p.m. today to determine the finals' team.
