Justin Chinich brings outstanding high school credentials with him from Texas as he looks to add important depth to the Nittany Lion goalie corps. An all-state goalie from the Lone Star State, Chinich will have the chance to be a key reserve for All-ECAC keeper Drew Adams.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Chinich lettered three years in lacrosse at Dallas' Plano West High School. He was a first team All-Texas selection in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He helped guide PWHS to the state semifinals in 2004, the state title in 2005 and the state quarters in 2006. A three-time team captain and two time team MVP, he left PWHS with 543 career saves. Chinich was a member of the Texas All-Star Team in his last three years as well. He is the son of David Chinich.
COACHES VIEW:
"We are very pleased with what we have seen from Justin so far. He is a very solid stopper and is also a strong passer. He is adapting to the college game very quickly and we feel he could be a very good goalie at this level."
- Coach VanArsdale
