Stadium Personnel Needed For Penn State Home Football Season

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; July 27, 2006 - Persons interested in working as parkers and ushers during Penn State's 2006 home football season can sign up in person or via telephone.

Parkers are paid an hourly rate and receive admission to the game. Ushers are paid a game fee and receive admission to the game.

Interested persons may sign up in person in 103 XY Bryce Jordan Center on campus, or can telephone the athletic business office at 814-863-0270. Persons must submit I-9 paperwork before beginning to work.

All stadium workers must be at least 16 years of age. High school students must have working papers secured through their high schools.

The Athletic Department also is in need of personnel to sell programs at the games. In addition to receiving game admission, sellers earn 40 cents for each program sold. Penn State kicks off its 2006 football season September 2 against Akron. "Penn State Football Eve presented by Sheetz" will be held the evening of Sept. 1, with festivities starting at 6:00 p.m. outside Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions play seven home games this year.

A limited number of tickets for the Akron and Temple (Nov. 11) games are on sale at www.GoPSUsports.com, the official website of Penn State Athletics or by calling 814-865-5555 or 800-863-3336 weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Five Penn State games are sold out: Youngstown State (Sept. 16, 3:30 p.m.), Northwestern (Sept. 30), Michigan (Oct. 14, 8:00 p.m.), Illinois (Oct. 21-Homecoming) and the Senior Day battle with Michigan State (Nov. 18), with the winner claiming the Land Grant Trophy.
