Former Nittany Lions Returning To Campus To Coach at Senior Football Camp

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., June 22, 2006 - Seventeen former Penn State football players are returning to campus this weekend to assist the Nittany Lion coaching staff with the Senior Camp.

The second year camp, for 2006 high school seniors, is being held Friday and Saturday on the University Park campus. The fifth Penn State Football Camp of the summer, an offense / defense skills and fundamentals camp, runs June 25-28 for athletes entering 8th-12th grade in the fall.

Many of the 17 former Nittany Lions returning to work the camp this weekend are head or assistant high school and college football coaches. They are:

  • Tom Barr (Head coach at Owen J. Roberts (Pa.) High School
  • Tom Bill (Assistant coach at Hunterdon Central (N.J.) HS)
  • Darryl Bullock (Assistant coach at Tennessee State University)
  • Gary Brown (Offensive coordiantor at Susquehanna University)
  • Stan Clayton (Assistant coach at University of Toledo)
  • Steve Davis (Assistant coach at The Wakefield School (Va.))
  • Gus Felder (Assistant coach at Cheyney University)
  • Frank Gianetti (Assistant coach at Toms River North (N.J.) HS)
  • Tony Johnson (Penn State wide receiver from State College)
  • Dan Radakovich (Assistant head coach at Robert Morris and former Penn State assistant)

The other Penn State lettermen returning to assist at the camp include: Keith Brown, Nate Glunt, Al Harris, Stu Helgeson, Brian Miller, Jason Robinson and Isaac Smolko.

There were more than 60 Penn Staters coaching in high school, college or professional football during in 2005.

Close to 3,000 high school players from across the nation are attending Penn State's 32nd annual summer football camps this month.
