Former Nittany Lions Returning To Campus To Coach at Senior Camp


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; June 21, 2007 ¨C Fifteen former Penn State football players are returning to campus this weekend to assist the Nittany Lion coaching staff with the Senior Camp.

The third year camp, for 2007 high school seniors, is being held Friday and Saturday on the University Park campus. The fifth Penn State Football Camp of the summer, an offense / defense skills and fundamentals camp, runs June 24-27 for athletes entering 8th-12th grade in the fall.

Many of the 15 former Nittany Lions returning to work the camp this weekend are head or assistant high school and college football coaches. They are:

  • Tom Barr (Head coach at Owen J. Roberts (Pa.) High School)
  • Tom Bill (Assistant coach at Hunterdon Central (N.J.) HS)
  • Darryl Bullock (Assistant coach at North Carolina Central University)
  • Dave Clark (Assistant coach at Edison (Va.) HS)
  • Nate Glunt (Assistant coach at Clearfield (Pa.) HS)
  • George Landis (Head coach at Central Dauphin East (Pa.) HS)
  • Sean Love (Assistant coach at Plant (Fla.) HS)
  • Joe Markiewicz (Assistant coach at West Mifflin (Pa.) HS South)
  • Dan Radakovich (Assistant head coach at Robert Morris University and former Penn State assistant)
  • Andrew Richardson (Assistant coach at Robert Morris University)

The other Penn State lettermen returning to assist at the camp include: Stu Helgeson, Tony Johnson, Rich Mauti, Andy Ryland and Gerald Smith.

There were more than 60 Penn Staters coaching in high school, college or professional football during the 2006 season.

Close to 3,000 high school players from across the nation are attending Penn State¡¯s 33rd annual summer football camps this month.
