UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. , July 18, 2006 ¨C Nittany Lion senior Matt Lincoln (Toronto, Canada) and juniors Ryan Kleintop (Slatington, Pa.) and Steve Meyers (Wayne, Pa.) have earned a spot on the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team. To qualify for the team, an athlete must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher and have attained an NCAA Regional or National qualifying mark in his event, indicative of the balanced approach of Penn State athletics. Lincoln, a two-time academic All-American, finished 17th overall in the 1500 at the NCAA Championship meet. A major contributor in all four of his years at Penn State, this nomination is business as usual for Lincoln. He is a kinesiology major. Meyers was a dual qualifier this season, attaining regional marks in both the discus and shot put. A graduate with junior eligibility, he has been named to the Academic All-Big Ten team several times while studying biomechanics. Kleintop, a true junior, qualified for the NCAA regional meet in the long jump. He is also a kinesiology major.
