Baton Rouge, La., June 2, 2002 - The Penn State women's track and field team took home three All-Americans from the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Baton Rouge, La., as senior Deshaya Williams and sophomore Connie Moore both earned the honor. They joined junior Brianne Johnson who collected All-America honors in the javelin earlier in the competition.
Williams grabbed the second All-America honor of her career as she placed sixth in the discus with a toss of 174-5. Chaniqua Ross of UCLA won the competition with a throw of 182-0. Meanwhile, Moore earned her first outdoor All-America honor and third overall, she has collected two indoors, as she placed ninth in the 100 meter dash in 11.88. Moore was among the top eight Americans in the race and thus earned the honor.
