Women's Track Takes on Nation's Best at Sea Ray Relays

Knoxville, Tenn.-- The Penn State women's track team headed south for the second time in this early 2001 outdoor season, and once again looked to make an impact in one of the largest track meets on the east cost.

Sophomore Brianne Johnson took fourth place in the javelin competition. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native had a toss of 159'05.00", which earned her another NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Jen Aylward (Royersford, Pa.) finished in an eighth place tie in the long jump. The junior had a leap of 5'06.00". Sophomore Connie Moore (Chicago, Ill.) finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.65 seconds.

The action winds down from the University of Tennessee on Saturday with nine more events to be decided. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Tom Black Track.
