PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's cross country team dropped two spots and is ranked 10th in the country in the FinishLynx/NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country National Poll, released Monday, October 29. The Friars slipped two spots from eighth after finishing behind Georgetown and Boston College at Friday, October 26th's BIG EAST Cross Country Championship.

PC received a total of 210 points after finishing third at the BIG EAST Championship on Friday, October 26. The Friars finished third behind the Hoyas and Eagles, both whom were ranked ahead of the Friars.

Stanford remained ranked first for the second week, receiving 323 points and 11 of 13 first-place votes. Brigham Young and Georgetown split the last two first-place votes and are ranked second and third, respectively, this week. North Carolina St. (No. 4 with 281 points) and Boston College (No. 5 and 265 points) round out the top five.

The Friars compete next on Saturday, November 10 at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
