Friar Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Ranked In USTFCCCA National Polls
Oct. 17, 2006 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams are ranked among the top-20 in the nation according to the latest USTFCCCA Division I National Poll, released on Tuesday, October 17. The Friar men's team is 20th in the nation with a total of 165 points. The women's team is ranked 12th in the nation with 245 points. Wisconsin tops the men's poll with 448 points, followed by Colorado (427), Iona (422), UTEP (391), and Stanford (390). Stanford is ranked No. 1 in the women's poll with 390 points. North Carolina State is second (376), followed by Michigan (354.4), Arkansas (353) and Wisconsin (342.5). The Providence men's and women's cross country teams return to action at the 2006 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 27 at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
