BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence men's and women's cross country teams each won their second-straight meet of the season at the Boston College Invitational held at Franklin Park (Boston, Mass.).

The PC men (18 points) earned top billing in the seven-team event, as the Friars swept the top-four spots. PC was paced by Adam Sutton (Preston, England) who won the race with a time of 24:26.80. Senior All-American Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand) finished second in a time of 24:27.10. Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) took third place (24:27.50), and freshman Pat Moulton (Pelham, N.H.) rounded out the sweep with a fourth-place finish (24:52). Dylan Wykes (25:10.20) of Kingston, Ontario, Dermot Galvin (25:23.20) of Kilrush, Ireland and Patrick Guidera (25:23.60) of Clonmel, Ireland finished eighth, ninth and 10th respectively. Harvard University finished second in the team standings with 65 points.

The PC women (29 points) beat out second-place finisher, Boston College (34 points) to capture the second win of the season. BC's Maria Cicero took a first-place individual finish for the Eagles as she set the pace in the event with a finish time of 17:15.20. Junior Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) earned second place with a time of 17:19.30 for the Friars. Clair Shearman (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished fourth (17:32.80), Kathryn Casserly (Galway, Ireland) finished fifth (17:46.10), and Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) rounded out the top-10 with a seventh-place finish (17:55.50).

Both teams will compete at the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, September 29. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m., and is being held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
