PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College was defeated by Connecticut, 3-0 (30-17, 30-12, 30-14), in the BIG EAST volleyball regular season finale for both teams on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I.

With the loss, Providence concludes the season with a record of 2-29 overall and 0-13 in BIG EAST play. Connecticut improves to 14-14 and 9-4 in the conference.

Sophomore Ayana Cadres (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Providence offense with a match-high 13 kills. Freshmen Katie Fleming (Cary, N.C.) and Rachel Tucker (Burleson, Texas) notched 16 and 12 digs, respectively, for the Friar defense.

Today was also the final match for seniors Sandy Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y.), Susan Fanning (E. Amherst, N.Y.) and Daniella Miele (Huntington, N.Y.), who were recognized in a pre-match ceremony.
