PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Providence College women's outdoor track team competed at the Penn Relays during the first day of competition on Thursday, April 22 in Philadelphia, Pa.

Senior Brooke Freeburg (Waterford, Pa.) won the javelin in the women's college division with a throw of 48.45 meters. With her throw, Freeburg qualified for the NCAA Regional Championship. Junior Katie Twarog (Albany, N.Y.) also competed for the Friars on Thursday and placed eighth in the 3,000 meter college division. Twarog finished in a time of 9:48.62.

The Friars will return to action on Friday at the Penn Relays.
