Owl and Stanford Invitational Results in PDF Format

The Providence College men's and women's outdoor track teams competed at the Owl Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut State University, on Saturday, March 31. The Friar men's squad was led by junior Ahmed Haji (West Hartford, Conn.) who captured the 5,000 meters, while senior Meghan Owen (Danielson, Conn.) led the women's squad with a first place finish in the 800 meters. Five other members of the outdoor track team competed at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday evening.

Haji won the 5,000 meter run in 14:20.78. Sophomore Richard Yeates (Dublin, Ireland) and senior Nick Weidman (Sudbury, Mass.) took second and third, respectively in the same race. Sophomore Charlie Dewey (Worcester, Mass.) captured the 800 meters in a time of 1:55.06. Freshman Hayden McLaren (Christchurch, New Zealand) was a close second (1:55.47) and junior James Lourenco (West Warwick, R.I.) came in right after McLaren at 1:55.54. Junior Max Smith (Dunedin, New Zealand) placed fourth in the 1,500 meters at 3:45.18 in section 1 of the Stanford Invitational.

Owen took the 800 meters in a time of 2:17.31. Sophomore Katie Elliot (Penfield, N.Y.) finished in a close second at 2:18.33, while sophomore Katherine Schock (Norwood, Mass.) finished fourth in a time of 2:20.99. Freshman Krystal Douglas (Harpswell, Maine) finished third in the 1,500 meters at 4:42.07. Graduate Student Anie Hoban (Wakefield, England) finished second in the 10,000 meters in 32:45.94 at the Stanford Invitational. Sophomore Katie DiCamillo (Garden City South, N.Y.) placed 13th in section 1 of the 5,000 meter run in a time of 16:14.59 at the Stanford Invitational.
 

 

Both the men's and women's teams are back in action on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Quinnipiac University Quad Meet.
