BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College women's indoor track team competed at the Terrier Classic on the campus of Boston University on Saturday, January 25. Senior Emer O'Shea (Limerick, Ireland) placed first in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 2:52.68 to lead the Friars.

In the mile, senior All-American Roisin McGettigan (Wicklow, Ireland) finished second in a time of 4:37.95 and sophomore Deirdre Byrne (Avoca, Ireland) took third-place in a time of 4:40.47. Sophomore Roisin Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) finished 10th in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:16.55 while Fiona Crombie recorded a ninth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run (9:44.53). The Friars had two runners finish in the top six in the 5,000 meter-run as sophomore All-American Mary Cullen (Sligo, Ireland) placed fifth in a time of 16:34.22 and graduate student Heather Cappello (Lockport, N.Y.) took sixth-place in a time of 16:34.86.

The Friars return to action on February 7 when they compete at Boston University.
