PITTSBURGH, PA - The Providence College women's tennis team traveled to Pittsburgh, Pa. to compete against the Panthers on Saturday, March 24. The Panthers prevailed, 7-0. There were, however, stand-out performances from the freshmen Allison Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and Dara Hawkins-Hodgson (South Euclid, Ohio). In doubles play, the duo were able to snag two points from their opponents, while, in addition, both had good outings in singles play. Hawkins Hodgson fell to Annie Davies at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-4 and Cohen fell to Carlie Smith at third singles, 6-3, 6-0. With the loss, the Friars are 0-7 on the spring season, 4-8 overall. Next up, the Friars head to Hartford, Conn. to compete against Hartford on Tuesday, March 27. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
