PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College women's basketball coach Susan Yow announced on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 that student-athletes Janell Fabor (Paterson, N.J.) and Kris Baugh (Boston, Mass.) have each signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College beginning in September 2003. Fabor and Baugh are the third and fourth high school student-athletes to sign a National Letter of Intent with the Friars under first-year Head Coach Susan Yow.

Fabor, a 5-foot-7 inch guard, is a 2003 Second-Team All-State selection, who averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists during her senior year. She finished her high school career at Paterson Catholic (N.J.) as the school's all-time leading scorer in women's basketball with 1,570 points. She also connected on 185 three-point field goals in her career. While at Paterson Catholic, she played for Head Coach James Stewart.

Baugh, a guard, was a four-year varsity athlete and two-year captain at Tabor Academy. During her senior season, Baugh averaged 17.0 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 steals per game. She is a two-time New England Prep School All-Star, and earned Boston Globe All-Scholastic honors during her senior year. Baugh also earned team Most Valuable Player honors, and was a MacDonald's All-America nominee. Over the course of her final two seasons of high school basketball, she led Tabor Academy to a 49-2 record. During that time, Tabor claimed the New England Prep School Class A Championship in 2002 and 2003. Baugh was named Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2003. While at Tabor Academy, Baugh played for Head Coach William Becker.

"Janell and Kris bring an enormous amount of energy and enthusiasm to the program," Yow said. "Their willingness to grow with the program and desire to help our team achieve a competitive level of play within the BIG EAST Conference is exciting. They give us depth and solid competition at the guard position. We are thrilled to have both of them attending Providence College."

Providence College, a member of the BIG EAST Conference, finished the 2002-03 season with a 9-18 overall record and a 3-13 mark in the BIG EAST.
