Men's Track Places 6th At New England Indoor Championship
New England Indoor Championship at Boston Univ., Boston, Mass. - Feb. 25-26, 2000 BOSTON, Mass. -- The Providence College men's track team scored 41 points and finished sixth of 31 teams at the New England Indoor Track Championship at Boston University in Boston, Mass. on Saturday, February 26. Freshman Chris Livesey (Preston, England) led the Friars, capturing the mile in a time of 4:03.81 and qualifying for the NCAA Championship. Sophomore Paul Reilly (Loughrea, Ireland) also had a first-place finish for PC, winning the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:16.19 and qualifying for the IC4A Championship. The Friars also got strong performances from sophomore Hamish Thorpe (Auckland, New Zealand), freshman Adam Sutton (Preston, England) and junior Ciaran Lynch (Limerick, Ireland). Thorpe finished second in the mile (4:05.42) and Sutton placed third in the 3,000 (8:18.25), while Lynch earned a third-place finish in the 5,000 (14:44.88). All three runners qualified for the IC4A Championship.
