Eoin Lynch, Anthony Petrarca And Zach Tobin Named To The NEISL All-Star Team
April 5, 2006 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College men's soccer senior captains Eoin Lynch (Yarmouth, Maine), Anthony Petrarca (Johnston, R.I.) and Zach Tobin (North Kingstown, R.I.) were selected to participate in the New England Intercollegiate Soccer League (NEISL) All-Star game, which will take place on Saturday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. at Clark University. Lynch, who also earned 2005 All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention accolades and All-New England honors, led the Friars in goals (nine) and points (22). He was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. He led the Friars in scoring each of his four years at Providence and had a career-best season this year with 22 points. He ranks second all-time at PC in goals (27) and third in points (61). A 2002 graduate of Yarmouth High School, Lynch is the son of Ciaran and Anne Lynch. Petrarca, a midfielder, finished his career at Providence with 14 points on three goals and eight assists. In four seasons with the Friars, he all 71 games that he played. A 2002 graduate of LaSalle Academy, Petrarca is the son of Domenico and Maria Petrarca. Tobin was a four-year starter for the Friars, playing in 72 games. One of the team's top defenders, he registered three assists in 2005 and finished his career with six points (one goal, four assists). In his sophomore season, Tobin was named to the All-New England squad. A 2002 graduate of North Kingstown High School, he is the son of Mark and Megan Tobin. The Friars finished the season with a 7-4-9 mark and advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. It marked PC's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1983. -end-
