CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Providence College was defeated by Harvard University, 2-1, in men's soccer action on Tuesday, October 1 in Cambridge, Mass.

Harvard took a 1-0 lead at the 13:15 mark on a goal by Ladd Fritz. The Friars evened the game at 1-1 when freshman Ian Wexler (Minnetonka, Minn.) scored at 28:30. Harvard's Kevin Ara recorded the game-winning goal at 54:53 to give the Crimson their sixth victory of the season.

Friar sophomore goalkeeper Jeff Newman (Northboro, Mass.) made two stops in the loss.

With the win, Harvard improved to 6-1 overall, while Providence fell to 2-7 overall.

Providence College returns to action on Saturday, October 5 against Virginia Tech at 1:00 p.m. in Blacksburg, Va.
