Men's Soccer Defeated By Bradley, 1-0, In Season Opener
Sept. 4, 2004 PEORIA, Ill. -- The Providence College men's soccer team was defeated in its season opener, 1-0, at the Bradley Classic on Friday, September 3 at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill. Bradley senior forward Preston Good scored the only goal of the game just 1:16 into the contest by finishing off a corner kick play. Good slammed home the loose ball with a side volley. Bradley outshot the Friars, 19-9, and PC senior goalkeeper Jeff Newman (Northboro, Mass.) made seven stops in the loss. The Friars will return to action on Saturday, September 4 when they face Drake at 6:00 p.m. EST in the squad's second game at the Bradley Classic. Drake won its first game of the Classic on Friday with a 5-0 win over Richmond.
