EDISON, N.J. - A total of 770 student-athletes were honored for their achievements academically and athletically on July 10, 2003 as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced its 2002-03 New York Lottery Academic Honor Roll.

Six Providence College men's lacrosse players, senior Matt Berk (Glencoe, Ill.), sophomore Frank Bosco Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), sophomore Richard Knightly (Windsor, Mass.), junior Kevin Kornobis (Merrick, N.Y.), sophomore Mark Rotella (Smithtown, N.Y.) and junior Ryan Russell (Montvale, N.Y.) were recognized for their achievements among the 770 honorees.

To be eligible for the New York Lottery MAAC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must hold a grade-point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be in his or her second year of athletic eligibility. The Honor Roll is open to both full-time and associate members of the MAAC with athletes represented in all 25 sports that the conference sponsors. Providence College participates in men's lacrosse as an associate member of the MAAC.
