Staten Island, N.Y. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team defeated Wagner, 10-6, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play on Saturday, April 23 at the Wagner College Stadium. The Friars scored four goals in the first quarter, and two in each of the remainder periods. Junior Tom Kelly (Henniker, N.H.) and senior Dan Giuntini (Floral Park, N.Y.) paced the Providence offense with three goals respectively. Friar senior Mark Rotella (Smithtown, N.Y.) won 14 of the game's 16 faceoffs.

Providence jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, as they improve to 6-7 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

The Friars went up 5-1 in the second quarter when Sean Kirwan (Drexel, Pa.) connected off a pass from Brendan Ryan (Chatham, N.J.) at 9:52. Six seconds later, Kelly netted an unassisted goal past Seahawk netminder Chris Sochacki.

In goal for the Friars, senior Andrew McMinn (6) (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomore Peter Littell (1) (Upper Montclair, N.J.) combined for seven saves.
