PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Providence College men's lacrosse team defeated Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe St. Joseph's, 17-9, in overtime on April 13 in Philadelphia, Pa. Senior midfielder Kyle Ojakian (Chesire, Conn.) led the Friars with a game-high four goals and four assists.

The Friars held a 7-5 lead at halftime. PC increased its lead to 13-5 after three periods as a strong defensive effort kept the Hawks off the scoreboard in the third period. The Friars and the Hawks each scored four goals in final period.

Sophomore attack Kevin Kornobis (Merrick, N.Y.) also had a strong game for the Friars as he tallied three goals in the win. Junior attack Skip Dunphy (Manhasset, N.Y.) added six points with two goals and four assists.

Senior goaltender John Farley (West Simsbury, Conn.) made 12 saves in the win for PC. Netminder Nick Leopard recorded 15 stops for St. Joseph's.

Providence raised its record to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in the MAAC. The Friars will return to action against Holy Cross on Wednesday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m., at Providence, R.I.
