BOSTON, MASS. - Providence College men's hockey junior Jon DiSalvatore (South Windsor, Conn.) has been named the recipient of the Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship Award at the annual HOCKEY EAST awards banquet, held Thursday, March 14. The Ceglarski award is presented annually to one player who has consistently demonstrated superior conduct and sportsmanship on the ice.

DiSalvatore, a junior forward and co-captain, led the Friars in scoring this season with 16 goals and 26 assists for 42 points in 38 games. DiSalvatore was penalized just three times this season, but played the entire conference schedule without amassing a penalty. DiSalvatore ranked 10th in the HOCKEY EAST in scoring this season and ranked eighth in conference scoring.

DiSalvatore is the first Friar to be honored with the Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship Award in the 11 years the award has been presented.

The Friars finished the 2001-02 season with a 13-20-5 overall record and a 8-13-3 mark in HOCKEY EAST league play.
