Men's Hockey Ranked in National Polls
March 3, 2003 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's hockey team climbed to No. 13 in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll and the U.S. College Hockey Online Poll, which were released on Monday, March 3. Colorado College, Cornell, New Hampshire, Maine and Ferris State are the top five, respectively, in both polls. The Friars moved up two spots in the USCHO.com poll and climbed one spot in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Poll. Providence is coming off a 3-1 victory over UMass Lowell in the final regular season game on February 28 to finish the month with an undefeated record (6-0-2). The Friars begin their best-of-three Hockey East Quarterfinal series versus Boston University on Thursday, March 6 at Schneider Arena. The second game is Friday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. and if a third game is necessary it will be on Saturday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. All games will be played at Schneider Arena.
