PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College men's hockey senior forward Jon DiSalvatore (S. Windsor, Conn.) was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday, February 24.

DiSalvatore led the Friars to a win and a tie versus No. 9 Boston University last week. On Friday, February 21, DiSalvatore scored two goals, including a short-handed overtime game winner as the Friars defeated the Terriers, 5-4, at Schneider Arena. On Saturday, February 22, he scored one goal as the Friars tied BU, 3-3, in overtime at Walter Brown Arena.

DiSalvatore leads the Friars in scoring with a career-high 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists). His 17 goals also is a career-high. He ranks fourth in Hockey East with 43 points and third with 26 assists.

The Friars, who are undefeated in the month of February (5-0-2), return to action on Friday, February 28 against UMass Lowell in the team's final regular season game.
