Marcedes Walker To Be Featured On CSTV'S Pre-Game Show Prior to Pittsburgh-Connecticut On Tuesday Night

PITTSBURGH – Prior to tip-off to tomorrow night’s Panthers’ women’s basketball game at Connecticut on College Sports Television (CSTV), University of Pittsburgh freshman standout Marcedes Walker will be featured on the station’s pre-game show, airing at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Walker (Philadelphia, Pa./University City) will be highlighted as not only one of the top rookies in the Big East Conference but also one of the top freshmen in the country. The show will air nationally on CSTV, which is available on DirectTV.
For the year, the 6-foot-3 Walker is leading the Big East in rebounding, pulling down 9.0 per game. She also leads Pittsburgh in scoring (13.5 avg.) and field goal percentage (49.6), which both lead all freshmen in the conference.
Walker has been twice named Big East Freshman of the Week, including this past week after averaging 19.5 points and 16 rebounds. She has nine double-doubles on the year and has led the Panthers in scoring in the past six games.
In Big East games, Walker is nearly averaging a double-double as she is tallying 14.9 points and 9.5 boards per contest.
Pittsburgh battles the Huskies at Gampel Pavilion on Tuesday night with tip-off set for 7:50 p.m.
