PITT'S SAM BAIR TAKES SECOND IN 1,500 METERS AS MEN COMPETE AT TEXAS RELAYS
April 8, 2007 AUSTIN - The Pitt men's track and field team traveled to the Texas Relays this weekend where they had top runners in the 1,500 meters with Sam Bair and Tim Konoval. Junior Mike Wray also competed in the hurdles. Bair (Pittsburgh, Pa./Kent State) finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:48.85. Konoval (Parry Sound, Ontario/Central Connecticut State) came in fourth in the event at 3:50.50. Wray (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) competed in two hurdles events. In the 100-meter hurdles preliminaries, he ran a time of 14.31. In the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries, he finished at 55.54. Next up for the Panthers is the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. The meet will run from April 11-14.
