    NOTRE DAME, IND – The Pittsburgh Panthers men’s soccer team fell to No. 9 Notre Dame Thursday night 3-0.  This was the Panthers’ fourth Big East Conference game of the season.  Pittsburgh moves to 1-2-1 in the Big East and 3-3-3 overall.

    Andy Jorgensen recorded eight saves on the match.  Steve Cavalier and Keeyan Young each made a shot on goal.

    Tony Megna started the scoring for Notre Dame at 38:06, picking up a loose ball at the top of the Pittsburgh box and driving in a shot from 19 yards.  Megna scored a second goal during the last of the contest at 83:08, as he tapped in a shot attempt by Luke Boughen from an oblique angle, just getting the ball into the left side of the goal.  Boughen and Joe Lapira picked up assists on the play.

    Boughen also assisted on Notre Dame’s second goal on a combination play with senior Christopher High. As Boughen played with the ball on the right side of the field, Boughen played a cross to High. High headed in the touch from 12 yards out, nabbing his second goal of the season at 80:31.

    Pittsburgh travels to Kalmazoo, Michigan on Saturday, October 9 to face Western Michigan at 1:00pm.
