EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette senior midfielder Meghan Ramsey (Lakeville, Minn./Great Valley) was named to the women's soccer Academic All-America Team as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Ramsey, a neuroscience major with a 3.91 grade-point average, was a second-team selection. She earned a place on the national ballot after being selected to the All-District II First Team.

Ramsey started all 73 matches of her four-year career, establishing new Lafayette records for matches started and played. A 2003 team captain, Ramsey was a two-time All-Patriot League Second Team selection. As a senior, she led the Leopards in points (17) and assists (7) and tied for the team lead in goals (5).

Off the field, Ramsey was a recipient of the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship and participated in the Mayo Clinic Undergraduate Fellowship program. Ramsey, a Lafayette Trustee Scholar, is now a two-time Academic All-District II selection and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll after each of her four seasons at Lafayette. Ramsey was recently named the 2003 ECAC Robbins Scholar-Athlete Award winner and advanced past the initial stages of Rhodes Scholarship consideration.
