Senior Reflections

April 5, 2007

Just a month ago, senior Adrienne Blount guaranteed another game for Lehigh as she sank a pair of clutch free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining in the Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals as the Mountain Hawks defeated 2006 Patriot League Champion Army 57-53. Unfortunately for Blount and the Mountain Hawks, Lehigh's season came to an end in overtime of the tournament's semifinals when eventual league champion Holy Cross emerged with a 65-62 victory. Blount, who did not play in her senior season of high school due to a torn ACL, recorded back-to-back double-doubles in Lehigh's post season games and became the only player on the All-Tournament team not from Holy Cross or American--the two teams that advanced to the League's finals.

"First, you're upset you lose. Then you shake everyone's hand--and then it hits you," said Blount. "It all hits you in different moments. It still hits me now."
