Entering his second season with the Tigers, Candrea will continue his work with the Tigers' hitters and outfielders in 2008. In his first season, Candrea coached Pacific's hitters to a .299 team batting average, second best among the seven Big West schools. In addition to their No. 2 ranking in the conference, the Tigers finished the 2007 season ranked No. 35 in the country in hitting out of 277 Division I teams. Under his guide, the Tigers finished the season No. 1 in the Big West in On-Base % (.383), Runs Batted In (267), Walks (208), Fewest Strikeouts (222) and in Runs Scored (296). Their 4.96 runs per game average ranked No. 48 nationally.

Candrea joined Pacific after spending four seasons as an assistant coach with the Arizona Wildcats from 2000-2004. During his time as an assistant, Candrea was in charge of hitting for the Wildcats who finished as the top hitting team in the Pacific-10, leading the conference in batting average and homeruns in 2004. Before working with the softball program, Candrea was a student assistant with the Wildcats' baseball team from 1998-2000.

Candrea earned his bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Arizona in 2004.
