Wojciech Betlej named Big West Swimming & Diving Men's Athlete of the Week

The Tigers will be in action this weekend as they host the Pacific Invitational on Oct. 28 and 29

Irvine, Calif. Pacific sophomore Wojciech Betlej (Mielec, Poland) has been named Big West Conference Swimming & Diving Men's Athlete of the Week for October 9-23rd. The conference used a two week time period as most teams only swam either weekend to open up their 2005-06 campaign.

Betlej, the defending Big West champion in the 200 backstroke, led the Tigers against Washington on Oct. 15, winning the 100 back (52.26) and 200 back (1:51.39).

Betlej will swim in five events at this weekends Pacific Invitational, which takes place Oct. 28-29. He will be swimming in the 200 free and 50 free on Friday, and the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM on Saturday.
