Zoldak To Continue His Outstanding Freshman Year At The NCAA Championships
March 15, 2005
STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific Tigers men's swim team will be represented by freshman Krzsztof Zoldak (Oswiecim, Poland) at the NCAA Championships on Thursday through Saturday, Mar. 24-26 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Zoldak, who had one of the best individual years in Pacific history during his first season with the Tigers, will swim in the 200 and 400 IM as well as in the 200 Fly at the NCAA Championships.
This season the freshman was named both the Big West Male and Freshman Athlete of the Year after leading the Pacific Tigers men's team to its third Big West title in the last four years. At the Big West Conference Championships, Zoldak picked up individual championships in both the 200 and 400 IM, while setting both school and Big West records in both events. Pacific defeated Big West rival UC Santa Barbara after finishing second to the Gauchos at the Big West Conference Championships in 2003-04.
Zoldak also placed his name throughout the Tigers' record book this season. He is in the top ten in nine events, including holding school records in the 200 Fly (1:47.14), 200 IM (1:46.84), and 400 IM (3:48.14). Zoldak was also part of the 200 Free Relay team that set a school record time of 1:20.71 at the Big West Championships this past month.
