Tigers Fall Short in Upset Bid at No. 8 Texas A&M

College Station, Texas - The Pacific men's basketball team dropped a 74-62 decision to No. 8 Texas A&M on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Reed Arena. The Tigers fall to 3-4 on the season, while Texas A&M improve to 7-0.

It was the closest game of the year for Texas A&M, who had an average margin of victory of 32 points per game. After Texas A&M took a 17 point lead in the second half with 9:11 remaining, the Tigers used a 7-0 to cut the lead to 62-52 with 7:25 left in the game. Pacific had a couple of chances to get it under a 10 point lead, but were unable to get it under 10 the rest of the way.

The Tigers trailed by as many as 14 in the first half, but scored the final four points of the half to trail 39-29 at the break.

Sophomore Anthony Brown (Sacramento, Calif.) led the Tigers with 19 points, while freshman C. J. Morgan (Elk Grove, Calif.) and senior Anthony Esparaza (Bakersfield, Calif.) each added 13 points.

The Tigers shot 48.9% from the field, the highest percentage allowed by Texas A&M all season. The Aggies had not allowed a team to shoot 40% in a half prior to today's game, but the Tigers were over that mark in each half.

Joseph Jones led Texas A&M with 24 points.
