Tigers Fall at Saint Louis 63-54

St. Louis, Mo. - The Pacific men's basketball team fell to 4-2 with a 63-54 loss at Saint Louis on Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, Mo. The Billikens improved to 5-2 with the victory.

A low scoring game at the beginning, Pacific led 11-7 with 11:30 left in the first half. Saint Louis then outscored Pacific 10-1 to take a 17-12 lead with 7:15 left. The Tigers cut it back to 21-20, then used a 10-2 run to end the half and take a 30-23 lead. Tiger Junior Chad Troyer had five points in that run to propel the team in that span.

Saint Louis outscored the Tigers 24-9 over first 10 and a half minutes of the second half to turn a seven point deficit in an eight point lead (47-39) with 9:29 left in the game. After the Tigers scored on a jumper by junior Chad Troyer (Seattle, Wash.) to cut the lead to 47-41, the Billikens scored the next seven points and would not lead by less than seven the rest of the way.

Junior Steffan Johnson (Kent, Wash.) led the Tigers with 13 points and a career-high six steals for the Tigers. His six steals tied for the third highest single game total in Pacific history. Troyer added 12 points for the Tigers. Junior Michael Nunnally (Stockton, Calif.) led the Tigers with eight rebounds.

After shooting just 40.9% (9-22) from the field in the first half, Saint Louis hit 13-of-20 shots in the second half (65.0%). The Tigers shot just 34.8% from the field in the second half (8-23), including 1-of-8 from three-point range.

Tommie Liddell led the Billikens with 20 points.
