1999: Saw limited action as a rookie... Played in seven matches and 20 games... Had her best overall match against California, with six kills, seven digs, two aces and two blocks... Tied for the team lead with eight digs in a match against Arizona State... Finished the year with 30 kills (1.50 kpg), 30 digs (1.50 dpg) and eight blocks... Competed at the Junior World Championships as a member of the Canadian Junior National Team... As a result, she missed preseason practice and did not join the Beavers until the first week of the season.

Played on the Canadian Junior National Team in 1998 and 1999, placing third at the Norceca Tournament in Mexico in 1998... Was a member of the British Columbia Provincial Juvenile Team that won the national championship in 1998... Was the MVP of the British Columbia AAA Championships in 1998 after guiding her high school team to the title... Her team also won the AAA title in 1997, when she was named to the All-Star Team... Also participated in basketball, track & field and badminton... Was an honor roll student and received the Work Ethic Award.

Born March 16, 1981 in Fort St. John, British Columbia... Parents are John and Heather Hannaford... Has two sisters, Min and Elizabeth, and two brothers, David and Mark... David played badminton at Grande Prairie Regional College in Alberta... Nickname is Joss... Agriculture major with a minor in animal sciences... Comes from a farming and animal background and would like to take over the family’s ranch one day... Other hobbies include swimming, horseriding and playing the violin.
