OSU: Michael enters the program in August for fall camp...he will compete at tailback.

JESUIT: Michael and his teammate Zach Tarver, who also will be a true-freshman on the OSU football team in 2004, helped Jesuit to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs in 2003...second team all-state as a senior as selected by The Oregonian...rushed for 1,794 yards on 274 carries (6.6 avg) as a senior and 952 yards on 153 carries (6.2) as a junior...scored 19 touchdowns as a senior and 14 as a junior...selected honorable mention all-state in 2002 even after missing half the season with a broken leg...his best prep game came as a senior against rival Glencoe when he rushed for 270 yards and five touchdowns...for his career he accumulated 2,746 yards on 427 carries (6.2 avg.)...SuperPrep Magazine ranked him the sixth best player in Oregon and he was 20th on TheInsiders.com Northwest Hot 100 list...he earned three letters in football.

PERSONAL: Born in Portland, Oregon...son of Michael and La Veta Jones...his father is a YMCA Director and his mother is a teacher... he has an older sister, Le Anne, and two older brothers, Gaberial and Oquendo...enjoys music, art and fitness...Michael Jordan is his favorite athlete...his top prep athletic thrill was running for four touchdowns against Central Catholic in a double overtime victory in his first start...selected OSU because, "I wanted to be close to home and I like the staff and program'...intends to major in exercise and sports science with aspirations of being a physical therapist.
