<2004: Josh is one of the most experienced players on the team and he will be looking to make a big impact this season at an area of the team that is lacking tested veterans...has played 24 games...made seven receptions in three spring scrimmages for 117 yards and one touchdown.

2003: Josh played in all 13 games...he made four receptions for 62 yards...scored a touchdown against New Mexico in the Las Vegas Bowl on a 19-yard pass from backup quarterback Adam Rothenfluh...he also accounted for 65 yards on three kickoff returns...for the season he accounted for 127 all-purpose yards.

2002: Redshirt.

2001: Josh had an impressive fall camp as a true freshman and earned playing time...he caught six passes for 73 yards...he scored a touchdown on a 24-yard pass from Jonathan Smith at Oregon...he also was the team's punt returner for most of the year with 33 for 211 yards...his long return was 33 yards against Northern Arizona.

LONG BEACH POLY: PrepStar Magazine selected Josh to its All-American team and as the 11th best receiver on the West Coast...Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West team...first team All-CIF Southern Section and second team all-state...played for head coach Jarry Jaso...for his varsity career he caught 62 passes for 1,528 yards and 24 touchdowns...had touchdown receptions of 86 yards as a senior and 72 yards as a junior...also returned punts as a senior, averaging 23.2 yards per return and scoring three touchdowns...Poly was 14-0 his final prep a senior he had 39 receptions for 798 yards and 13 touchdowns...competed in the 100 meters and 110-meter hurdles as a junior...earned two letters in track.

PERSONAL: Born in West Covina, California...son of David and Mary Hawkins...David is a physician assistant and Mary is a parking enforcement officer...has one brother, Julian...entered OSU with a 3.0 cumulative GPA...hobbies include collecting football cards, music, playing the piano and working out...Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Jordan are his favorite athletes...majoring in speech communication with an emphasis on broadcasting.
