Ask The ADOregon Athletic Director Bill Moos fields questions from the fans!
Terry Freytag (Eugene, OR)
Bill Moos: The seating capacity once the expansion is done is set to be around 54,000 and that includes the sky boxes. We feel that if we are bringing in 44,000 - 45,000 right now in a stadium that seats 41,600 that we will be able to seat around 57,000 people with standing room only in the new stadium. It would be great to have the maximum capacity that we can because that is what makes Autzen Stadium one of the best in the country. However, for the time being 54,300 is a perfect size for Autzen and hopefully in the future we will be able to expand again.
Richard Murphy (Colorado Springs, CO)
Bill Moos: I wish we had a baseball program at Oregon but unfortunately we do not. It was cut 20-25 years ago primarily for financial reasons and the problem with bringing it back now is that we are again to comply with Title IX having to add one to two more women.s sports just to get our percentages up to where they need to be with compliance and right now we just do not have the financial capacities to do this. |
