NORFOLK, Va. -- The No. 13/11 Old Dominion field hockey team takes its three-game win streak on the road this weekend as they travel to Towson on Friday, September 28th and No. 18 Delaware on Sunday, September 30th for a pair of Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) contests.

The Lady Monarchs enter the weekend with a 4-5 overall mark and 1-0 record in the CAA. Last weekend Old Dominion racked up a season-high eight goals in an 8-1 non-conference victory over Radford and opened up league play with a 1-0 overtime win against Northeastern. The win against the Huskies marked Old Dominion's second shutout of the season.

Members of the ODU sophomore class lead the squad in scoring. Titia Beek (Heiloo, Holland) continues to lead the Lady Monarchs in scoring with three goals, six assists, and 12 points. Her six assists top the CAA and rank her 11th nationally. Fellow classmate Katie Ueberroth (Stevens, Pa.) is a close second with four goals, two assists, and 10 points. Ueberroth collected two goals and two assists in last week's victory over Radford. Third on the stat sheet is Kathleen Shea (Elizaville, N.Y.). Shea has provided Old Dominion with four goals this season, including the golden goal in the Lady Monarchs' overtime win against Northeatern. In the cage, sophomore Kelly Driscoll (West Chester, Pa.) is holding on to a 2.58 goals against average and a .766 save percentage.

Friday's contest against Towson will be played Villa Julie College as a new surface was installed at Johnny Unitas Stadium where the Tigers had previously played.

Towson enters Friday's contest with a identical 4-5 overall record, but are 2-0 in CAA play. The Tigers dropped a 4-2 decision to Virginia Commonwealth and fell 5-1 to No. 8 James Madison last weekend. Both Towson and Old Dominion have faced off against Connecticut. THe Lady Monarchs fell in a 3-2 game in a neutral site contest in Michigan while the Tigers fell 3-1 in Storrs.

The Tigers are led by sophomore forward Christina Boarman, the CAA's top scorer, with eight goals, three assists, and 19 points. Senior forward Kajee Murangie checks in as Towson's second leading scorer with 12 points stemming from six goals. Both Kristie Blumer and Gabby Mink has collected six points on the year. Blumer, a rookie midfielder, has three goals under her belt, while Mink, a senior midfielder, has registered two goals and two assists. In net, Michelle Cheek is holding a 2.69 goals against average and a .623 save percentage.

The Fightin' Blue Hens of Delaware will host William & Mary Friday night before welcoming Old Dominion to Rullo Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Hens enter the weekend with an 8-2 overall record and 1-1 mark in the CAA. Delaware fell 1-0 to No. 8 James Madison in their CAA opener, but rebounded with a 5-4 overtime victory at Virginia Commonwealth. Delaware opened the season with seven consecutive wins tying the best start in program history.

The Delaware offense is currently seventh in the nation as the Blue Hen squad is averaging 3.3 goals per game. Junior midfielder Casey Howard leads the way with eight goals, two assists, and 18 points. She is followed by sophomore forward Tori Karsten with five goals, three assists, and 13 points. A pair of senior Blue Hens enter the weekend having totaled 10 points with forward Molly Burke registering five goals and midfielder Amanda Warrington posting three goals and four assists. In goal, junior Nikki Rhoades holds a 1.10 goal against average and .654 save percentage.

Next weekend the Old Dominion field hockey team returns home to host Hofstra and Drexel in more CAA action.
