Tunnicliffe Captures ODU Radial Regatta :: Monarchs take third in Riley Cup

NORFOLK, VA. - Sophomore Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH.) and senior Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, NY.) finished one-two in the Old Dominion BYOB-Radial regatta. Old Dominion's silver squad took third in the Riley Cup regatta.

Tunnicliffe completed the 21 races with 12 first place finishes anc compiled 40 points. Capozzi finished second with 60 points. She had five firsts and seven second place finishes.

In the Riley Cup, St. Mary's College (Md.) Rallied to win the event with 109 total points, edging Georgetown (112) and host the Monarchs (115). St. Mary's had three second place finishes and a first in the final four races. The Monarchs finished with 53 points in 'A' Division and 62 in 'B' Division. ODU's 'A" Division boat of Ignacio Saralegui (Montevideo, Uruaguay) and Christabelle Fernandez (Va. Beach, Va.) came in first., while the 'B' Division boat of Andrew Newbold (Hummelstown, PA.), and Cara Gibbons-Neff (Annapolis, MD.) took fourth. The Monarchs Blue team finished eighth with 252 total points.
